About

My name is Dávid Lovas and I am an Austin based media designer and filmmaker. I studied New Media Arts at Moholy-Nagy University of Art & Design in Budapest, Hungary and then went to the Netherlands to study Audio Visual Design at Willem de Kooning Academie in Rotterdam.
In 2011, I finished my master's degree as a media designer. While in school I started my freelancing career and worked as a director for companies - such as: iD magazine, Viacom, HBO Central Europe, Coca Cola and Google HK - and participated in several art shows and screenings as a Video Artist - such as: Crosstalk Video Art Festival 2011, Museum Ludwig 2011, Budapest Kunsthalle 2010, Universität der Künste - Berlin 2010, ARC Exhibition 2008 2009, Institute of Contemporary Art, 2008, MediaWave Festival 2007 and Hungarian Film Week 2006 – 2009 - during my college years.
Since I moved to Austin, I've produced a number of short form documentaries for the artist run nonprofit Co-Lab Projects, documenting the exhibiting Artist's process and products. Additionally, I've been commissioned by Fusebox Festival, The Contemporary Austin and Austin AIPP to produce several promotional videos and documentaries.
Between 2017 and 2019, I was the Multimedia Designer for the tech company Carnegie Technologies where I directed and produced video and animation content as well as occasional photography and sound design..
